Futures slipped early Monday as Brent topped $107 and OpenAI paused training. On Friday, Microsoft and banks led, and 61 of 100 names we track rose.

The Fed's decision lands at 2 p.m. ET with a quarter-point hike near fully priced. Oil rose 4.2% and the 10-year touched 5.041%.

The 10-year hit its highest since 2023 and 75 of 100 names fell, while Meta and Cloudflare rose on AI launches. PPI lands at 8:30 a.m. ET.

Oil crossed $100 on Iran escalation and the Dow lost 1.18%. But 73 of 100 large caps fell while chips rallied. PPI Thursday, CPI Friday.

The Fed chair says rates may still need to rise, and a US strike near Hormuz pushed Brent above $90 over the weekend. Both point the same way.

Monday's tape split 25 advancing to 75 declining, semis led while software was sold on someone else's revenue print, and Home Depot reports before the open.

Monday's close: 55 advancers but a flat index, oil up about 5% on Hormuz, six semis lower, three small-cap takeouts. CPI lands Wednesday 8:30 am ET.
